Institutions & Care Homes

You are here: Home / Institutions & Care Homes

Whether a retirement home, institution or as therapist in an institution, do you want to call on our therapy animals and their handlers?

Would you like to have animal to support you in psycho, ergo, physiotherapy or other forms of therapy?

Or would you like to arrange a visit to your care home or institution?

Therapiedier vzw has a network of employees and therapy animals. All the therapy animals have been tested for behaviour, interaction and health and all our employees have received training in basic behaviour, cynology, psychology and first aid.

The team of dog and handler can be with you long term in the context of occupational therapy, play therapy, etc., depending on the individual requirements. We collaborate with you to determine how best to work with the residents, we always follow your recommendations.

In addition to a therapeutic visit, we can also come along to allow residents to interact with the dogs, cuddling and stroking them.

In general we work with dogs but we also have cats

A therapy animal is more than just a dog that enjoys being stroked, this is a professional service and we have standard fees.

Contact us by mail for more information.

Training projects in prisons and institutions

We also carry out projects within prisons or institutions. We select animals from a rescue shelter and these dogs are cared for and trained by the residents and, if possible, given back for adoption, work as a service dog in a family or remain in the institution.

In America this is already a common thing and all of the positive effects have been proven, bringing structure and sense of responsibility into the lives of the people involved. Ask us for the conditions and details.

Lectures in your own institution/association

We come to you and give a tailor-made workshop or lecture for your volunteers and staff, so that they understand what it means to work with therapy animals, they get to know and understand the benefits and also the practical issues.

This is not a professional training session, for this we refer you to the professional training available at Toscanzahoeve.

Contact us if you are interested in any of these services at info@therapiedier.be
