They are not only cuddle dogs but also true therapy animals.
The dog handlers are trained in the fields of psychology, behavior, cynology, first aid, etc.

Due to practical reasons, we only work with dogs in schools. During our individual sessions and at our own location, we work with other animals, e.g. parrots, horses, and cats.

The program lasts 1 to 1.5 hours per group and is structured as follows:

Introduction and presentation

Game to get acquainted with how to interact with dogs

Guidelines for interacting with dogs

Practice with a hand puppet

Practice with real dogs

Distributing workbooks and ‘diplomas’

The educational lessons for primary education or BUSO are given in schools and associations, with the aim of explaining and improving the child-dog bond.

The project assumes that bite incidents can be prevented if children know more about dogs and their behavior and learn to better interact with dogs. “What is learned in youth is hard to forget.”.
Through practical education, we ensure that children can interact more responsibly with dogs (including ignoring dogs). This can lead to a reduction in fear of dogs and therefore also the number of bite incidents. Moreover, education contributes to children enjoying dogs more.

We provide a customized program for difficult teenagers, children with learning disabilities, children with autism, or toddlers.

Contact us if you are interested in this service at info@therapiedier.be

Also possible

Leash dogs
Project dog massage & trailing with your dog

to be arranged individually depending on the number of dogs and the size of the group.
