3. What data do we collect?
Depending on the specific purpose, we process personal data on the basis of your consent, the performance of a contract, a legal obligation or our legitimate interests. We do not collect more data than necessary or use it for incompatible purposes.
We only process the personal data that we need and store it only temporarily. If we pass them on to third parties, we conclude a data processing agreement with them in which they guarantee your privacy.
Below is an overview of the personal data we process on this website:
3.1 Contact Information
3.1.1 Godparenthood/godmotherhood and membership application form
When you want to become a godfather, godmother, or member of Therapy Animal, we ask you to fill out a paper application form. The information you provide (first and last name, street, house number, postal code, city, telephone number, e-mail address and, if applicable, company name, company address, VAT number, and information about your animal) is transferred to Teamleader, our secure accounting and CRM system. In addition, we also store a scanned version of the application form in Teamleader.
After your data and the scan of the application form have been entered into Teamleader, the paper application form is destroyed using a paper shredder.
We retain the data in our accounting and CRM system for at least 10 years, partly to comply with all our legal obligations. This data is deleted by us within 1 year after this obligation expires.
3.1.2 Newsletter
When you subscribe to our newsletter, we store your first name and email address in Mailchimp in order to be able to send you the newsletter. In addition, Mailchimp also collects statistics when you read our newsletter: your browser type, ID, and the number of times you open the newsletter and/or click on a link. We use this data to improve the newsletter or to resolve any issues.
Where personal data is processed outside the European Economic Area, we use valid transfer mechanisms and appropriate safeguards under the GDPR, such as an adequacy decision or standard contractual clauses.
We keep your data until 1 year after you unsubscribe from the newsletter. You can easily unsubscribe via the link at the bottom of each newsletter.
3.2 Location (country)
3.2.1 Firewall
When you visit this site, the firewall stores your country on a cloud platform. This is done to protect your personal data by proactively blocking countries with high hacking activity.
The security service processes this information solely to protect the website against misuse, attacks and unauthorised access. It is retained only for as long as necessary for that security purpose. Appropriate safeguards apply to any transfer outside the European Economic Area.

3.3.1 Firewall
When you visit this site, the firewall stores your IP address on a cloud platform. This is done to protect your personal data by preventatively blocking potential hackers based on their IP address.
The security service may temporarily process the IP address to identify and block attacks, misuse and unauthorised access. It is retained only for as long as necessary for that security purpose. Appropriate safeguards apply to any transfer outside the European Economic Area.
3.4 Service agreements
When you make an appointment via the online booking system on our website, we store your first and last name, telephone number, and email address, among other things, in the Bookly plugin on our website. The purpose of this plugin is to schedule the appointment and the service/treatment. We have this data sent via an SSL connection to our secure G Suite mailbox. This is necessary to be able to communicate with you.
Every year we delete appointments that are more than 3 years old.
