Meet Kai, the therapy dog of Inge Pauwels and a warm ambassador for the work of therapy animals. Together, Kai and Inge visit schools, libraries, residential care centers, and other organizations. Kai helps make contact possible, brings calm, and allows people to grow in a safe way.
What does Kai do as a therapy dog?
Kai supports Inge during coaching, practical days and supervised activities. Among other things, he works with children who are afraid of dogs. They are given the time and space to watch at their own pace, ask questions and take small, achievable steps.
In schools and libraries, Kai can stimulate curiosity, the joy of reading, and connection. In residential care centers and care organizations, his presence can invite contact, memories, and a warm moment together.
Kai never replaces a professional healthcare provider. He is part of carefully supervised animal-assisted activities, with attention to the safety, boundaries, and well-being of both human and animal.
Kai goes international
Kai travels with Inge to professional activities, training sessions, and practical days in Germany, the Netherlands, and Spain, among other places, as well as to destinations outside the European Union. In doing so, he helps make the value of respectful cooperation between humans and animals visible across borders.

De Kai therapy dog collection
Around Kai, a collection of meaningful gifts and educational materials about courage, connection, and kindness is emerging. With this collection, we want not only to share Kai's story, but also to support the broader work with therapy animals.
