A visiting dog team visits organizations or target groups for planned, wellness-oriented activities. The handler coordinates each visit with the organization and monitors safety, hygiene, workload, and rest.
Possible workplaces
- residential care centers;
- hospitals and facilities;
- day care centers;
- educational and community projects.
Working in varying locations requires flexibility from both animal and handler. Not every animal feels comfortable with frequent relocations, unfamiliar people, and new environments. Screening and follow-up therefore take recovery and total workload into account.
